Bonnie Headed for SE Louisiana

Landfall Expected Late Saturday Through Early Sunday Morning

POSTED: 5:56 am CDT July 24, 2010
Tropical Depression Bonnie is moving quickly towards the Gulf coast this morning, with sustained winds of 35 mph and gusts up to 45 mph. While it has weakened since Friday, some re-strengthening is possible on Saturday before it makes landfall late Saturday through early Sunday. The storm will most likely make landfall new New Orleans with winds up to 45 mph. Tropical Storm Warnings remain in effect along the Gulf coast from Louisiana to Florida.

By Sunday afternoon, the depression will be in central Louisiana, and that will bring showers and storms to the ArkLaTex. Rain associated with the remnants will affect our area through Monday into Tuesday. Temperatures will be slightly cooler as well, in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
