SHREVEPORT, La. -

Tropical Storm Isaac is moving west/northwest into the Gulf of Mexico.  Winds are 65 mph and strengthening is forecast over the next few days.

The National Hurricane Center is now forecasting Isaac to make landfall in the northern Gulf of Mexico.  The latest thinking is between Lake Charles, LA and Mobile, AL late Tuesday night as a Category 1 or 2 hurricane.

The ArkLaTex may experience an inland tropical storm with sustained winds over 40 mph from early Wednesday through Wednesday night.  Thus, it's a good idea to stock up on batteries, flashlights and water in case of power outages.

Also, flooding preparations may need to be made for residents living in low lying areas.
