This year marks the 33rd Annual African American History Parade. While the actual parade cannot take place in downtown Shreveport in 2021, KTBS/KPXJ will continue to celebrate the history of the parade by taking a look back at some of the previous parades. Saturday morning, Feb. 6th at 11:00 a.m., we'll showcase an hour-and-a-half long special edition of the 33rd Annual African American History Parade. Former State Representative Barbara Norton started this parade 33 years ago, and has grown it to an amazing celebration in our community.
SHREVEPORT, La. - The African American History Parade has been a centerpiece in Shreveport for more than 33 years. Because of that history, pandemic or not, KTBS 3 and the African American History Parade committee decided that "the show must go on."
SHREVEPORT, La. - We all love Fridays and now there's one more reason to look forward to the end of the work week. KTBS 3 and Cumulus Media are teaming up to make your Fridays more fun. Each week on First News we'll connect via Zoom with Melinda and Mason in the Morning from KRMD.
