This event has raised more than $36 million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. It’s a hospital that provides hope for children and their families. Thirty-one years ago KTBS had no idea this project would help so many people. Now St. Jude builds houses all over the country, sells $100 tickets, then gives the house to a winner. More than $460 million dollars have been raised for the hospital from the Dream Home Project around the country. It all started with the KTBS 3 St. Jude Dream Home. You can make a difference. Dream Home Campaign History

The KTBS3/St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway was created in 1991 by Dr. Donald Mack, a pediatric physician from Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Mack has relied on St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to treat young patients with catastrophic diseases and was the first doctor to send an out-of-state patient to St. Jude.

The first KTBS3/St. Jude Dream Home was constructed in Shreveport, Louisiana, and raised $160,000 for the hospital. Since that first giveaway, the KTBS 3/St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway in Shreveport has become an annual fundraiser, raising more than $30 million for the hospital.

Today, nationaly the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is one of the largest single-event fundraisers for St. Jude nationwide and has raised more than $460 million.

This year, the program will include more than 40 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaways and will continue to grow.
