SHREVEPORT, La. - The board of directors for the Krewe of Centaur has postponed the 2021 Centaur Mardi Gras Parade set for Feb. 6, according to Krewe Captain Ricky Bridges in a press release. No decision has been made on a rescheduled date.
The move comes as the krewe takes measures to protect members and the public from COVID-19. Bridges said they will monitor the situation and if state and federal guidelines are relaxed, he says the krewe will revisit the decision. This also means the Centaur Ball and other events associated with the parade and krewe will be delayed.
In the press release, the krewe said it will continue to support the community through various programs.
The Krewe of Centaur is the largest Mardi Gras Krewe in Northwest Louisiana.
