If you grow your own food, you're more likely to become healthier. Shreveport Green and AmeriCorps members took a trip to Werner Park Elementary School in Shreveport to plant seeds in their garden that are expected to bloom into the necessary ingredients for pizza.
This is known as the "pizza garden." For this week's Spring Planting topic, KTBS 3 News joined AmeriCorps members, Shreveport Green and students of Werner Park Elementary School while they spoke about the ingredients that goes on top of a pizza and watched as a few students were able to dig in the soil with their hands and plant seeds in the ground.
