Body found in James Bayou

VIVIAN, La. - The Caddo Sheriff's Department has found a body in Jeems Bayou.

According to According to Caddo 911 records the investigation was at the Boyter Lane and Trees City Road intersection near Highway 2.

The Caddo Sheriff's Office says a kayaker found the body in Jeems Bayou around 7:45 Saturday morning. 

A man's body was recovered at around 8:30 a.m. That's when deputies learned that there cold be vehicle in the water as well. At 2:30 Saturday afternoon, a Dodge pickup truck was pulled from the bayou.

Deputies say they do not suspect foul play. They believe the man tried drive straight through a curve and swerved off the road.

The man's name hasn't been released, but deputies say the have an idea of who it could be.

"We're pretty sure we know who it is, but like I said the investigation is still ongoing until we get confirmation from the coroner's office," said Cpl. Frank Edmondson with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.

Edmondson says they do not know how long the body was in the water, but they think it's been at least a week after looking at the condition of the body.
