Stoner shooting

The first shooting occurred about 1:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Stoner Avenue.

SHREVEPORT, La. - It was a violent Wednesday in two Shreveport neighborhoods with two deadly shootings.

About 1:30 p.m., police were called to the 400 block of Stoner Avenue where they found Deverous Holden, 25, lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Holden was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health hospital where he died.

Police arrested LeDarron Carter, 25, and Tamara Baker, 23, in the shooting death. U.S. Marshals found the couple in the 200 block of East Jordan Street just after 6:30 pm. They face a charge of second-degree murder with bond set at $300,000.

Jackson shooting

Another deadly shooting happened about 7 p.m. in the 3600 block of Jackson Street.

Later Wednesday evening, police were called to the 3600 block of Jackson Street relative to a separate and unrelated shooting. They found Derek White, 34, lying in the driveway of a home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.  He was taken to Ochsner LSU Health where he died.
