SHREVEPORT, La. - Police say they are working to piece together events leading up to an ambush-style shooting early Thursday in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood.
It happened a little after 3 a.m. in the 100 block of Herndon Street.
Details are limited, but police told KTBS 3 News that a 23 year old man was ambushed outside his home. He was shot in the chest, lower body and one of his legs. He was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health where he's being treated.
Police did recover several handguns that they say were used in the shooting.
Those who heard the shots say it sounded like firecrackers.
