FRISCO, Texas – Following a meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Ezekiel Elliott published a statement on Tuesday afternoon.

“Earlier today, I met with the Commissioner to share with him what occurred in Las Vegas and what I have learned from that incident,” the statement began.

It had been reported earlier in the week that Elliott would be meeting with Goodell about the May incident, which saw him handcuffed – although not arrested – during a concert in Las Vegas.

“I need to work harder to ensure I do not put myself in compromised situations in the future,” Elliott said.

The full statement can be read below:

It remains to be seen what, if anything, comes of Elliott’s meeting with Goodell. It has been two years since he initially ran afoul of the league’s personal conduct policy, earning him a six-game suspension during the 2017 season.
