District play will get underway in 1-3A Friday night and that's where we find the next Griffin's Game.
Bob will head up to Springhill Friday as the defending champion North Webster Knights will take on one of the league's newcomers, Bossier. The Bearkats are 5-0 for the first time in a long time and are itching to prove they can be a force in their new district.
The Bearkats surprising start as been bolstered by bruising back Decamerion Richardson. Richardson has racked up 799 yards through five games this season, which comes out to around 160 yards per game.
Bossier head coach Mike Concilio says the excitement around his team's unbeaten record can be felt around campus, "A lot of good things are happening, a lot of good feelings. It's just a lot of pep in the step at practice. Morale is really up and it makes for some really good, hard work each week with the success we've had, for sure."
North Webster is 2-3 on the year and coming in on a three game losing streak to some of our area's toughest opponents. Bossier knows this will be their toughest challenge yet and Concilio believes their previous experience in 1-4A has prepared them for the task at hand, "The preparation of being in 1-4A for the last four years, that district was very stout. I feel that a lot of our guys, although we were not having much success, kind of weathered through a tough storm. Coming in, we just want to prove the fact that we're able to play with these guys."
Will the Knights get their district title defense started on the right note, or will Bossier's magical run continue? You can find out in Griffin's Game when the Landers Friday Football Fever Scores and Highlights Show kicks off at 10:30 on KPXJ CW 21.
