(MOORINGSPORT, LA) - We had our heads in the clouds Thursday as we signed our names to the next generation of TV antennas that will push KTBS into broadcasting 4K quality TV in 2019.
KTBS 3 staffers took a road trip up to Mooringsport to signed the new antenna, while the workers were on a break of course.
There are two antennae one weighs about 1,700 lbs the other more than 8,000 lbs. Like many stations across the country, the FCC is requiring that we move frequencies to make room for the next generation of digital communication.
The frequency for KTBS3 stays the same but KPXJ CW21 will move which will require a little work for viewers who rely on an antenna to watch television. Those viewers will need to Re-Scan their channels. You'll still find great programming on Channel 21, the change in frequency doesn't change the channel.
This next step makes use of both over-the-air signals and your in-home broadband so that viewers can fully utilize the next generation of television in Ultra HDTV and 4K digital.
This is only the beginning, so be sure and stay tuned for many more broadcasting breakthroughs from KTBS 3/KPXJ CW 21 in the future.
