BIENVILLE PARISH, La. - An Amber Alert has been canceled after two young boys who were taken from Arizona Department of Child Safety custody Tuesday morning were found safe in Louisiana.
The alert was issued after the boys' parents, Melissa Joy Gladden and Jerry Jay Kirkley, took off with the kids in a 2008 Dodge pickup.
Authorities say the children were located around 11 p.m. Tuesday when their parents were pulled over on Interstate 20 east in Bienville Parish.
The public was warned the two may be heading to either Louisiana or Mississippi.
Louisiana state troopers spotted the truck, pulled them over and the parents were quickly taken into custody without incident.
