SHREVEPORT, La. - The Caddo Coroner's Office has released the name of a teenager who drown Thursday at Splash Kingdom in Shreveport. He's been identified as Kendall Williams, 13, of El Dorado, Arkansas.
Ofc. Christina Curtis of the Shreveport Police Department tells KTBS 3 News that is was about 5:10 p.m. when the teen went under the water, but did not resurface.
KTBS 3's Investigative Reporter Jamie Ostroff spoke with the CEO of Splash Kingdom Friday morning. He told her that several lifeguards immediately began CPR efforts when the teenager was pulled from the activity pool. He says they responded within seconds.
The teen was rushed to Willis-Knighton where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be performed.
The park is open on Friday and park officials are said to be fully cooperating with authorities.
