A Shreveport teen has died after being struck by a motorist last night in south Shreveport.
Just before 10:30 pm, officers responded to reports of a pedestrian involved hit and run crash in the 8200 block of Range Lane. Officers arrived and located the 16 year old victim in a water filled ditch near the roadway.
Shreveport Fire Department transported the victim to University Health Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Shreveport Police Crash Investigators responded to the scene and began their investigation. They learned through witness statements and evidence left at the scene that the victim was struck from behind and thrown into the drainage ditch nearby. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a dark colored sedan with a tinted license plate cover. The driver of that vehicle was described as a heavy set black female. Investigators believe that the vehicle may have front end damage.
