TEXARKANA, Texas - Veterans from all branches of service were honored Thursday at a veterans luncheon in Texarkana, Texas.
All veterans received a pin and certificate at the ceremony held inside Eagle Hall on the Texas A&M University - Texarkana campus.
Third generation marine, motivational speaker and actor Jacob Schick served as the guest keynote speaker.
Schick served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He's also the CEO of 22-Kill.
It's an organization created to help combat suicide among veterans, first responders and law enforcement communities through traditional and non-traditional therapies.
"We just need to get the message out that it's okay to not be okay. The strong thing to do is to ask for help, you're not going to be able to fight through these battles alone," explained Schick. "We're built to do this life thing together that's why we preach the one tribe one fight motto."
The luncheon was hosted by the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce.
