Sam's Town officer involved shooting

SHREVEPORT, La. -  A stabbing Saturday on North Market turns into a deadly officer-involved shooting at the Sam's Town parking garage.

The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office has named the shooting victim as Marcus Boles,35, of Shreveport.

The stabbing was reported just after 6 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Market. The victim’s vehicle was stolen by Boles,who stabbed him, police said, and was driven to Sam's Town Casino. 

Police found the Boles about 45 minutes later on the second floor of the parking garage. He reportedly resisted arrest and scuffled with an officer.

Police said that’s when the Boles tried to take the officer’s gun. The officer shot the man several times.  The Caddo Coroner's Office says Boles was stabbed and shot during the scuffle. 

He was taken to Ochsner LSU Health, where we later died.

The officer was not injured.

Police said the stabbing victim has non-life threatening injures.
