BROKEN BOW, Okla. - Sheriff's deputies in McCurtain County recovered the body of an 11-year girl Tuesday who disappeared in Broken Bow Lake.

Sheriff Kevin Clardy said Layla Johnson was attending a large family gathering Monday when she disappeared. The group was from California and Dallas.

The search was concentrated in the area of Carson Creek. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Water Safety Division assisted in the search.
