GRAMBLING, La. - Grambling has several reasons to be proud, but another is the program was ranked by ESPN as the 25th best in college football's 150 year history ahead of the likes of Texas A&M and Arkansas.
Although, the Tigers weren't worried about that Saturday as the team participated in their final team scrimmage before the fall semester.
GSU opens the season with I-20 rival ULM and head coach Broderick Fobbs offered this assessment of the play that mainly focused on ensuring depth.
"We kind of held the ones and twos out, wanted to see what the threes and fours were going to do. Guys made plays.
"We got a lot of young kids that we wanted to get a bead on and see who was going to be the backups and who are going to be the guys that we send to the scout team, but also guys that can give us quality reps when it comes to a situation where we gotta take those ones or twos out."
GSU is on the road against UL-Monroe August 31 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m.
