(HAYNESVILLE, LA) - Haynesville High School's Tornado Joseph Debrazion Evans has set his eyes and collegiate football career on the tigers at LSU.

The 6'1", 300-pound junior cashed in his verbal college commitment with Louisiana State University of Baton Rouge Sunday.

"This means the world to me," Evans told KTBS Sunday.

The Tigers are accepting the well-rounded recruit, who boasts a 3.8 GPA, as a defensive tackle.

"This opportunity means I am one step closer to achieving my number one life goal - that is to reach the NFL," Evans added.

His bloodline is no stranger to football. His cousins Doug and Demetric Evans both landed successful careers in the NFL, also products of Haynesville High.

Evans, who was raised by his father Franklin, after his mother died giving birth to him, says her spirit has its own way of inspiring him to achieve amazing things.

"My dad has always been there encouraging  me," Evans said. "I want to thank my family and friends for the strong love and support.
