SHREVEPORT, La. - Fun was the focus at the Walk On's Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic.
Children from age five to incoming eight graders hit the turf at Independence Stadium to receive instructions from regional college coaches and 2019 chairman Art Carmody said he was thankful to have so many volunteers.
"Yeah I was joking with the coaches before that they maybe get 48 hours a year off, but they're actually spending time here driving to Shreveport early this morning to set up these events for the kids. I know they're having a great time and for the kids to have college level coaches to come out and teach them pointers on how to be better, it's a great event."
