SHREVEPORT, La. - It was another scorcher around the ArkLaTex today. The high in Shreveport reached 101 degrees...one shy of a record according to the National Weather Service. Today was the 8th time over the century mark this summer. 7 is about average.
Many of the KTBS 3 Weather Watchers also recorded triple digit heat:
Robert Morris in DeQueen, Tommy Lowe in Fulton, Arkansas plus both Jason Patterson and Brian Loper in Atlanta Texas were there.
Lenny Vowell in Karnack and Richard White in Minden saw 101 degrees.
Mike Lyles from Shreveport, Russell Teutsch in Bossier City and Bob Fentress near Princeton had highs of 101 to 102.
Michelle Gullette in Ringgold, John Henry in Coushatta and Barry Howard in Clarence all saw highs above 100.
Bill Hicks in Rockport was the exception with only 80 degrees.
