SHREVEPORT, La. - Several members of law enforcement in Caddo and Bossier Parishes will head to South Louisiana in preparation of Tropical Storm Barry.
Water rescue crews from the Caddo and Bossier Sheriff's Offices will head to Baton Rouge Friday morning at 6:30 a.m. The deputies and equipment were requested by Louisiana State Fire Marshal Butch Browning in support of rescue efforts.
The Shreveport Fire Department released a statement saying specialized task members will help with search and rescue efforts in South Louisiana.
The 17-person team consists of structural collapse technicians, swift water rescue specialists, search and rescue K-9’s and K-9 handlers, incident support team members and two Cross Lake Patrol Officers.
The team is expected to be in South Louisiana for seven days. They will also leave Friday morning.
