SHREVEPORT, La. - Tropical Storm Barry is now up to 50 mph according to the 10 PM advisory from the National Hurricane Center. The storm continues to defy the harsh environmental factors of wind shear and dry air. 90 degree ocean water seems to be the saving grace.
The forecast takes the storm ashore Saturday morning and moves it slowly north near the Mississippi river during the rest of the weekend. The ArkLaTex appears to receive a glancing blow, but the forecast is still uncertain.
