BATON ROUGE, La. - Gov. John Bel Edwards briefed Louisiana residents on Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday's expected landfall of Tropical Storm Barry.
Among the updates he provides was that President Trump has approved the pre-landfall federal disaster declaration that he requested.
He also said he's working closely with emergency officials along the coast who are bracing for impact. In addition, he's staying in close contact with officials in north Louisiana who may also feel the impact of Barry in the coming days.
The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) has fully activated the State Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
The governor's office will continue to provide updates as information becomes available and additional UCG meetings will be scheduled as necessary.
